My first meeting with Nick was around 2 years ago just after l retired.
I wish l had made contact sooner. Although I had a reasonable idea about my  finances l knew l was in need of help.

l found this help in Nick who went to great lengths to make my Financial situation very clear to me. Stacking my cards very neatly in a row.
This helped me to make those very important decisions that are needed on retirement.

I now find myself feeling very comfortable and confident about the future.

When Nick became our financial advisor I had multiple pensions and had major concerns about our ability to achieve a financially stable retirement. Now we have been retired nearly 3 years and have no money worries to concern us. Three holidays a year, concerts, meals out are all achievable without worrying if we can afford these. Instructing Nick to look after our finances has transformed our lives. Before doing so we were both planning to work until 67, as we felt we needed our state pensions in order to take that step. We now find ourselves comfortably able to retire 5 years earlier than we had thought would be possible, solely as a result of Nick’s investment and tax advice, and his shrewd financial planning, which has been explained with such clarity that two of the least savvy people in this field have been able to understand what was being proposed and why! I had always considered myself financially astute but with retirement looming I wanted to ensure that not only did I have enough to be comfortable but also that my wife would have no worries after my demise. The most important criteria was that the financial advisor I chose was someone I could trust implicitly. Our first meeting we hardly touched upon finances moreover what I wanted out of life for not only myself and wife but also my 3 children. It’s been 6 years now and Nick has guided us so my pension and ISA’s are invested properly.

Following some big changes in my life, I was getting really tied up in knots regarding my financial position. I had some big decisions to make about my future and I’d been stressing for months about them. I felt like I was at a crossroads with no signs.

What a difference my conversations with Nick made! I really felt he understood what I was trying to achieve and he explained his suggestions to me in a way that made perfect sense.

To begin with, he conducted a detailed review of our situation, assessed its strengths and weaknesses, and made recommendations for how we should proceed regarding pensions and retirement, savings and investments. What we really like about Nick is his clear explanations. He responds very quickly to any enquiry, is a great listener, is cheerful, knowledgeable and professional, and deals with issues that arise in a comprehensive and forensic manner. Nick has been helping me with my finances for about 5 years now. He is really good at explaining scenarios , savings and opportunities relevant to my situation. For issues like pensions, investments and Inheritance tax, I feel very out of my depth but Nick patiently sits with me to outline possible options. By reading the small print he has enabled me to take a pension earlier than I had expected with no penalties incurred. The software he uses is excellent in setting out various scenarios with respect to my finances. The visual charts can be adjusted for each potential situation and helps immensely to show what the outcomes may be (especially for me as a visual learner).

It was in 2013 as I was approaching retirement age that I decided it was time to reassess my financial position. Up to this point I had an investment, which I had seen nearly halve in value and I had 2 private pensions, that I thought should maybe be consolidated and re-investigated as I was paying a lot of my salary into these. I decided to seek an independent financial adviser as I did not want to be tied into just one Bank/Supplier that would obviously put me into their exclusive funds, pensions. I also hated the way that every year I got a new Financial Adviser that I never met.
I was recommended to Nick Evans who is totally independent and not tied into any one product. He listened to my requirements and I was immediately impressed by how knowledgeable and professional Nick is - and he continues to keep up to date by going on courses and taking exams to better himself. Using Nick's extensive knowledge and some great software he has invested in, which shows one's position into the future with what-if scenarios, we planned what my path should be.
I have now been retired for 5 years and have all my financial information on one platform, which is easily accessible. I have no worries and enjoy spending my money on holidays and the family. It is great to leave all the paperwork to One Life so I do not have to worry and spend ages trying to understand it!
My husband and I meet with Nick yearly but we can contact him at any time. He is excellent at listening to us and together we check our position and make plans for the future which involve looking after our children and grandchildren as well as ourselves. He makes very sensible recommendations that we can either follow or not.
