A framework for success

Financial planning can appear complicated. There are those who thrive on this misconception to demonstrate their value, but activity and complexity without reason is often counter-productive.

Keeping things simple is in our DNA. Our annual planning process is goals-led, and focuses on the actions you must take to reach and maintain your financial freedom.

01

Getting to know each other

From our very first conversation, you’ll notice that what we’re most interested in is you. We want to understand what you’re aiming for and why those things are important.

We’ll take a look at your financial position as it stands now, and consider the type of help you may need. We’ll also explain our approach and our fees. By the end of our time together, it should be clear whether or not we’re a good fit for each other.

02

Understanding your financial world

We’ll build your detailed planning model using our highly engaging software. This helps you and us understand what you have, and what it may mean for your future position.

The model covers everything from income and spending to assets and liabilities, not just today, but how each will change over time. Clearly, we have to make some assumptions, but you will see with absolute clarity whether you’re likely to accumulate too much money, or run out!

03

The financial plan

With a full understanding of your planning strengths and weaknesses, we’ll set out the steps you need to take to improve your position.

Each recommendation will be explained in a way that makes sense. Some of these you can action yourselves; others will require further help. Once you’ve had chance to review them in your own time, we’ll talk again to agree next steps.

04

Building your investment portfolio

Now we know what your various investments and pensions need to do for you, we’ll ensure they’re aligned with your goals.

This might involve transferring existing pensions to a more appropriate scheme, setting up new pension savings plans, or reorganising your investments. You won’t have to lift a finger, as once agreed, we’ll take care of everything on your behalf.

05

Dealing with other things

If there are any additional actions to be carried out, this is the time, and we’ll provide all the necessary guidance and support you need.

Maybe your plan recommends you take steps to reduce your Inheritance Tax liability. Perhaps you’re advised to take out some personal insurance, or review your retirement income arrangements. Whatever’s needed, we’ll take care of it all for you, keeping you in the loop throughout.

06

Ongoing reviews

By far the most important part of our service is to keep everything under regular review. This helps you to maintain focus and ensures we react appropriately to changes around you.

It’s impossible to predict what life will throw your way, but regular reviews mean we can make any changes to your plan that might be necessary. We’ll meet with you at least once a year, and by repeating these steps, we can help ensure you’re in good financial health and on track to meet your goals.
